Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state who lost the primary election to the Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu inaugurated a group of 20 men known as Transition Committee, according to the report received by NIGERIA NEWS.
Mr. Obafemi Hamzat chairs the committee while Governor Ambode was represented by Tunji Bello, the secretary to the state government. The governor representative, Governor-elect deputy, and Obafemi chair the committee on Tuesday.
The committee is to ensure that there is a successful transfer of power from the incumbent Governor administration to the Governor-elect administration.
Ambode ran for the office of the Governor of Lagos State in April 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress, the state’s ruling party. He won the election, just defeating the second-place candidate Jimi Agbaje of the People Democratic Party by 150,000 votes.
