The report reaching NIGERIA NEWS gathers that one person has died while about ten other people are feared trapped after a four-storey building collapsed in Abuja on Friday, August 17.
It was further gathered that the four-storied building was under construction before it collapsed on the workers and food sellers in the Jabi area of the Nigeria capital city.
The report stated that eight people have been rescued, including the site engineer who had his two legs broken in the building which had been abandoned for 15 years, before contractors were recently mobilised to the site.
Officials of the federal capital territory development authority, the FCT fire service and National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) have reportedly commenced rescue operation at the site to free the trapped victims.
A tweeter user with the username, Chukydyk, suggested that the number of those trapped in the debris could be much higher.

Meanwhile, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that Abuja High Court suspended hearing in alleged contempt suit against INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood.
