Here are some of the discussions President Buhari had with the APC senators of the 8th National assembly, he spoke about their actions and says of these actions are not found in loyal party members.
Buhari made this known when he hosted state governors and senators-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday night.
Buhari on Monday had a meeting with elected National assembly members of the APC members in Abuja, Presidential Villa where he dines and speaks with them about he as president expected of them next in the coming 9th assembly.
President Buhari specifically mentioned the delay in passing the 2019 budget as one of many issues he is currently having with the 8th National Assembly.
NIGERIA NEWS reports that the national president used the Presidential Villa dinner with the APC national assembly new elect and governors elected on the platform of the ruling party to advise them to not copy the 8th national assembly and its leadership but be up and running for the nation progress.
“This is my fifth and last time of standing for an election – for that reason, I’ll like to leave something behind.
“And what I want to leave cannot be successfully done without your support.
“So, that is why I’m appealing for your support. What happened in the last Senate and so on is regrettable because I still feel it shouldn’t take seven months to pass a budget. You have a very, very serious job ahead of you.
“So, what I’m appealing is that any major decision you are going to take please reflect more on the country than yourself as a person – what effect will it have on the country,’’ NAN quoted him as saying.
While promising to work and partner with the 9th national assembly in promoting peace, stability and economic prosperity in the country, the president thanked the governors and senators-elect for their support and understanding.
