22-Year-Old Boy Found Guilty Of Armed Robbery, Sentenced To Death By Hanging
A 22-year-old boy simply identified as Afolayan charged with armed robbery offense before an Ado-Ekiti High Court has been found guilty and sentenced to death.
NIGERIA NEWS gathered the Court has however pronounced today that he should be killed by hanging. Friday sentenced one Segun Afolayan to death by hanging for armed robbery.
Available information revealed that Afolayan committed the said offense on Nov.10, 2014 at Ado central area of Ado Ekiti.
He was said to have attacked a man identified as Ibrahim Samodun the owner of a motorcycle with plate number ADK 792 QC, cash of N60,500, a Bold 5 blackberry phone valued at N35,000 and a Nokia 2700 valued at N15,000 at gunpoint.
Also, the convict was said to have further robbed another man identified as Layiwola Adeawoof a sum of N50,000 on the same day he was caught.
Afolayan, however, met his Waterloo when Samodun, saw his motorcycle at Ijato area of Ado Ekiti and hurriedly reported the discovery to security operatives who subsequently arrested the convict and his accomplice who was identified as Eniola Sunday.
From the information gathered, Eniola Sunday had earlier been convicted of a similar offense but was lucky to have escaped from prison during a jailbreak in Ado Ekiti.
Several evidences was tendered before the court on the case which led to why Justice Abiodun Adesodun pronounced that Afolayan should die by hanging.
