Ekiti Poll: Fayemi Optimistic About Winning, Commends INEC For Hitch-Free Electoral Process
The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the ongoing Ekiti election, Kayode Fayemi, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for a hitch-free electoral process after he successfully cast his vote.
Fayemi has also expressed optimism on the election as he noted that he wouldn’t have contested the election if he had foreseen a failure to win the Ekiti state gubernatorial seat.
Fayemi who cast his vote at Ogilolo ward 11, unit 009 in Isan Ekiti, Oye Local Government area of the state about 10.45am alongside his aides and supporters noted that the process has been credible and peaceful.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, the APC gubernatorial candidate said: “Nigerians decided to choose democracy over dictatorship and that is why all of us must guard this democracy jealously.”
“I have faith in this election or else I would not have come out to contest.”
Fayemi further said: “With the news, we have been gathering around, the process has been okay for now. So, I have faith in this election and I know the people of Ekiti will judge me based on what I did when I preside over this state and what this government is doing. They can see that the difference is clear.”
