Mr Razaq Ivori, an online media communication expert, on Tuesday, urged politicians to establish social platforms that would connect and engage young Nigerians in development and electoral matters.
Ivori, who made the call in an interview with the NIGERIA NEWS in Abuja, said social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook enhances inclusiveness.
“The APC campaign team during the just concluded election in Osun was able to successfully communicate its reasons and solutions concerning the civil service salary.
“I set up an online youths media hangout which attracted all youth organisations in the state and outside the country.
“It gave a good opportunity for the APC candidate, now governor-elect, Mr Gboyega Oyetola to interact live with Osun youths everywhere including the diaspora,” Ivori said.
According to him, the easiest way to win election is through the people, adding that communication remains indispensable.
He added that vote buying and gifts at the last minute in elections can only gather few votes while the people’s choice would have been thousands of votes ahead.
“The online media communication platform contributed to the victory by APC in the recent governorship election in Osun,” he said.
