There Is A Fuel Shortage In Osun, Taxi Driver Inflate Price

A witness said that a large number of the petroleum stations were closed and refused to sell their fuel due to a fuel shortage in Osun State, according to the report received by NIGERIA NEWS. There was a long queue of vehicles at the petrol station that was opened. One of the workers at one of the petrol station, Tayo Arowolo that sell fuel said that the scarcity was due to the inability of the tankers to be able to lift the item at the Lagos state depot.

 

Mr Tayo said that the petrol station was hoarding petrol in order to cause its scarcity and added that if nothing is done concerning the matter, it would lead to a lot of hardship for the people.

 

Another witness who happened to be a Taxi driver also queuing at one petroleum station named Cornoil filling station at Old Garage in Osogbo said that it was tragic that all the oil stations were accumulating the item in this manner making counterfeit shortage. He added that needful has to be done in order not to aggravate the difficult situation for the low-income class in the community.

Another witness, a driver, Mr Ayo Adeyanju also said numerous business drivers were exploiting the fuel shortage situation in order to expand transport tolls.
