Gov Abubkar Says He’ll Challege Bauchi Poll With Supports From Presidency

The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, has revealed that the party’s leadership has decided to approach the court to reclaim its mandate from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Bala Mohammed.

Governor Abubakar of Bauchi state has stated that he is challenging Bauchi governorship election after getting a nod from the presidency namely Buhari and Osibanjo with the All Progressives Chairman, Oshiomhole have given their support for him to challenge the Bauchi governorship election which sees the opposition party, the PDP through Bala Muhammed winning the election

Governor Abubakar has said he will seek to reclaim his mandate taken away from him by the PDP in the state.

 

The governor who travelled to Abuja and returns to the state had some words with his party members at his campaign organisation office in the state

Recall that Governor Abubakar had conceded defeat after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced Senator Mohammed of the PDP as the winner of the election.

NIGERIA NEWS had reported that the governor of Bauchi state had earlier conceded defeat after the INEC declared Bala Muhammed Winner of the governorship election of Bauchi state

Abubakar confirmed that he had earlier accepted his defeat as “destiny”, however, said that the leadership of the party would file a suit soon to challenge the election.

Abubakar who spoke with his supporters said that it’s true that he did accept the defeat as destiny, but however, the party leadership wants him to challenge the governorship election in Bauchi state in a competent court of law.

Abubakar has said, “I went to Abuja as a loyal and obedient party member. I met with the National Chairman of the APC, I met with the Vice President of Nigeria, I also met with the President of Nigeria.

“All these three offices said that the APC will file a suit in court to challenge the election results of Bauchi.

“As an obedient member, I accept to go with that decision. Everyone knows when the results of the election were announced, I conceded defeat but I contested on the ticket of the party and the party has refused to accept the outcome.”
