The legislative leader of Ebonyi State, Governor David Umahi on Friday challenged the National Boundary Commission, NBC, for their powerlessness to put a changeless division to end the waiting limit emergency shaking numerous states of the nation, NIGERIA NEWS reported.

Umahi who talked through the Commissioner for Border, Peace and Internal Security, Hon. Kenneth Ugbala said the National Boundary Commission, NBC is a toothless bulldog particularly in their failure to separate the debated land between the general population of Igbeagu in Izzi nearby government territory of Ebonyi state and Ukele people group in Yala neighborhood government zone of Cross River State.

Review that, the Commission had visited both Ebonyi and Cross River states at the warmth of the emergency and even welcomed the influenced communities for exchange words in Abuja, yet it has not been anticipated towards outlining the agitated territory.

Ugbala contended that accepting the NBC and the Federal government had outlined the questioned land as at when due, there wouldn’t have been unjustifiable records of the deceased and devastation of properties from the two sides of the States.

“Some times we doubt the sincerity of the federal government to ensure that the lingering boundary crisis in the border areas not only in Ebonyi is permanently demarcated.

“Most times, we look at the NBC particularly as a toothless bulldog because a lot of things have happened in that area even before the inception of this administration.” He expressed

The Commissioner who expressed that the Governor got updates on the killings in the region with stun and misery approached the Police and Army to enhance their organization systems to quickly nip the emergency at the board.

As indicated by him, all partners including the State Auditor-General, the State Director of Fadama, Councilors and other chosen identities from Igbeagu people group are therefore suspended with no specific termination day until there is harmony in the territory.

“No land is more important than the lives of the people. They should take a decision so that the crisis will end,” he included.
