Saido Mane and Mohammed Salah were on target as Liverpool defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield to pile pressure on Manchesteri City and return to the top of the log.
Liverpool dominated proceedings in the early part of the match with Kepa making strings of impressive saves to deny Salah and Mane.
Willian wasted Chelsea’s best chance in the first half when he blasted the ballbover the ball when he could have done better.
Rudiger hobbled off in the first half and was replaced with Christensen.
The first half ended goalless, but Liverpool came out all gun blazing in the second half.
Mane finished off a brilliant team move with a close range header that Kepa could do nothing about.
Few minuets later Salah scored a long range belter to increase the lead.
Sarri replaced Odoi with Higuain and Hazard moved back to his favorite position where he tormented Liverpool players but was unlucky not to score when his low drive hit the bar and Alisson denied him with the second.

On the title race: “The first question in the meeting today was ‘what is the City score?’ You cannot avoid knowing about it. But it isn’t interesting to us.
“We expect them to win all their games so we just need to get as many points as possible and if we’re champions then great but if not it is still a really good football team.”
