1. Osun Guber: Court takes decision on Senator Adeleke’s eligibility to be Governor

The Court of Appeal in Akure, on Saturday affirmed the eligibility of Senator Ademola Adeleke, Osun State’s governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to stand for election as Governor.

Presided over by Justice M.A Danjuma, the court dismissed the appeal against the judgment of an Osun State High Court sitting in Oshogbo, which had confirmed the eligibility of Adeleke to contest for the governorship of Osun State.

The court had Justices R.A Abdullahi and P.A Mahmoud as members of the panel.

2. APC did not zone DSP position to South-South – Oshiomhole

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole, has laid to rest media reports suggesting that the party has zoned the position of Deputy Senate President to the South-South.

He said the party was yet to zone Senate key offices, including the office of Deputy Senate President.

Oshiomole also denied reports that he was planning to zone the position of Deputy Senate President to Edo North senatorial district.

3. We won’t challenge Wike’s second term victory – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it won’t join the African Action Congress (AAC) to protest the second term victory of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.

APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, made this known during the weekend while fielding questions from reporters in Abuja.

He noted that although some local government area results were questionable, the APC would not challenge them at the Election Tribunal because the party had nothing to do with the polls.

4. Gov. Dickson gives automatic employment to 107 PhD, 200 MSc holders in Bayelsa

Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, has approved automatic employment for 107 PhD and 200 MSc degree holders who have concluded their studies under the state scholarship scheme.

Governor Dickson also announced the automatic employment for all medical doctors, pharmacists, public health specialists and other beneficiaries of the Scholarship Scheme who studied professional courses considered critical to the state.

5. Lagos State fire director, 6 others kidnapped

The Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasaki Musibau and six others were abducted by unknown gunmen on Saturday night at about 8p.m., on Iwoye Bridge, along the Itoikin-Epe Road, Ikorodu.

The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, saying that the police were on the trail of the abductors.

Elkana said that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, had tasked the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Unit to ensure that they rescue the seven persons abducted by the hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers, NAN reports.

6. FG, NACCIMA hail Ugwuanyi for enhancing Ease of Doing Business in Enugu

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah and the National President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson have commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for his administration’s innovative measures and steadfastness in enhancing the ease of doing business in the state.

The duo also congratulated Gov. Ugwuanyi for Enugu State’s recent impressive rating as second in the list of the five most reformed states in ease of doing business in the country, in 2018.

7. Innoson warns GTBank over N8.7billion Supreme Court judgement

Innoson Group, on Sunday warned GTBank to respect the judgement of the Supreme Court which ordered it to pay the company N8.7billion.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan had on Friday refused to hear or grant GTBank an injunction to restrain Innoson from continuing to levy execution against it; the court also refused to stay execution.

Cornel Osigwe, Head Corporate Communications, in a statement said despite the decision of the Supreme Court on February 27th 2019 dismissing the appeal by Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) and affirming the concurrent judgment of Court of Appeal, Ibadan division and Federal High Court Ibadan, which ordered GTB by way of Garnishee Order Absolute to pay Innoson Nigeria Ltd the sum of N2.4 Billion with a 22% interest, per annum, on the judgment sum until the final liquidation of the judgment debt, the bank is yet to comply with this order.

8. Katsina Senator hints on APC expelling Ndume, Goje over ambition to become Senate President

Senator representing Katsina South District in the National Assembly, Abu Ibrahim, has hinted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may expel Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume and Danjuma Goje, if they go against the party’s decision on the election of the next Senate President.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday in Abuja, Senator Ibrahim said any member of the APC who dares the party’s decision and connives with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to sabotage the party on who becomes Senate President will be shown the way out of the ruling APC.

9. APC reveals why they lost some states to PDP

Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that the party lost election in some key states, because it gave every Nigerian the opportunity to contest election freely without interference in the electoral process.

The APC lost the governorship elections in Imo, Adamawa, Bauchi and Oyo states, four states controlled by APC Governors.

10. FA Cup: Manchester City to face Watford in final
